We LOVE you, Spencer!

"What? I've found a baby before!"
"What's his name??"

"Carlos."

Thanksgiving

This year we traveled to High Point, North Carolina for Thanksgiving to spend time with Lee's mom and step-dad, Craig and brother and step-sisters. Katy was in town from DC and Allison came in from Roanoke. Lee's Grandpa (Bauer's Great Grandpa) Miller came down from Minnesota. We were so excited to see him!
We left Virginia Beach Wednesday afternoon and arrived late that night to family who hadn't met Bauer yet which is actually everyone except Lee's mom. She had burgers waiting on us..fresh off the grill! On Thanksgiving day, Thursday, The Dockery's, Spencer and Jonathan joined us for dinner. The dinner was A-MAAAAAZ-ING! yummo! I had some much needed home cooked food and wine. We spent the evening relaxing and watching movies..including Charlie Brown Thanksgiving which is a tradition for me that I'm starting with Bauer. He watched too! On Friday, Lee and I went over to his friend Chris's parents' house to introduce him to B. His sister and parents were there and were all so excited. Unfortunately, Bauer decided to embarrass us and have a HUGE blow-out right in the middle of it all..ruining not one but TWO outfits! By the time we left, he was swaddled in a blanket. Everyone thought it was hilarious except me..I felt so dumb! That night, Katy offered to watch Bauer while Lee and I met up with Chris and John for Mexican dinner and Black Friday shopping :)
Saturday, I went with Katy and Craig to Costco for some much needed items and then met up with Lee, John, Julie, Craig, and Bauer for a walk at the park/disc golf course. I returned home to make my famous Mac and Cheese for dinner before Lee headed out to his 10 year high school reunion with Chris. I spent the night with John and Katy and Bauer watching Crazy Stupid Love. A movie which I'd already seen..but LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Sunday, we woke up and headed to church and back to the house for lunch before heading home! We had such a wonderful weekend with the family and friends and are already looking forward to Christmas in Roanoke!! :) Here are a few favorite pictures from the long weekend! :)

Giving Thanks

I figured in honor of the big Turkey Day coming up I needed to go ahead and put out there what I'm thankful for this year. I don't know how I'm going to limit this to 10 things but I'm going to try :)

1. God. The big guy. The man upstairs. Without him, there would be no "I'm Thankful For.." lists.
2. My husband. AKA. Hubs, Hubbalicious, Booboo, Poop, Lee, Leero. Quite frankly, he's one of the best out there. I could just eat him up. With a spoon.
3. I think number three is self explanatory. My beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL, son. Bauer Ross. Zubba. My wittle sweetie booger. Couldn't imagine my life without him. He's amazing. Literally, there are no words.
4. My Parents and extended family....all whom without out, once again this life would not be possible.
5. Our awesome friends. They pretty much rock. We love em. ALL of em!
6. Our jobs. Necessary to sustain this wonderful life we've bestowed on ourselves. Not my favorite place to go to everyday and although I'm not looking forward to going back, I'm thankful its there for me.
7. My Health. it equals happiness. Health is good right now. Thankfully! :)
8. To live in a free country. The state of our nation has its ups and downs but honestly, I'd rather live here than lots of other places in the world.
9. Let's just get right to it. Toothpaste. You know you forgot to put it on YOUR list but now you wish you'd had.
And last but not least...
10. Regis Philbin. Enough said.

Hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving :)

a sweet gesture

When we brought Bauer home from the hospital, my office was kind enough to surprise me. They ordered a huge platter of sandwiches, pasta salad and cookies for Lee, my parents, and I. That was so nice. I know this is a little late but I thought it was worth mentioning. I sent this picture to everyone in the office, including the doctors :)

First Roanoke Visit!

We took Bauer to Roanoke for the first time last weekend. We really wanted him to meet my half of the family, especially my mom (grandma) who is very sick these days. Since we weren't going to make it to Roanoke until Christmas, we wanted to make a quick trip up there for everyone to meet him.
Friday after Lee got off work, we made the 5 hour drive to Roanoke to my dad's house. We were greeted happily as they took the baby and then went in the house and left us to unload the car. No hugs..just wanted to see Bauer! HAHA I guess I better get used to that :) Dad ordered Chinese food for dinner and we patiently awaited the arrival of our wonderful friends, Nick and Shaylynn Grant. They currently live in Louisville, Kentucky but just happened to be in town the same weekend so it worked out perfectly! We were so happy to see them and I think they were equally as happy to meet Bauer for the first time! There little one, Briggsley couldn't make it because she had a stuffy nose and a cough but maybe NEXT time Bauer will get to meet his future prom date :)
On Saturday we woke up and drove to Mom's house. Most of the family was there. As soon as we brought him in, Grandaddy immediately took him out of his carseat and laid him in my Mom's arms. I've never seen a more peaceful baby. He was so happy and comfortable in her arms. We even recorded his FIRST smile in a picture when she was holding him! It was a perfect moment. She held him for a long time. Bauer also got to meet Aunt Jan, Uncle Ross and cousins, Troy and Andie! Everyone got their turn, but we could tell that Bauer was happiest when his great grandmother was holding him :) While there, Lee, dad, Andie and I took a long walk through the woods..the same walk I used to take with my dad. It was a perfect day for a nature walk. After a happy meeting at Mom's we headed over to Grandma Pat and Grandpa Frankie's house. Bauer got to meet TWO MORE great grandparents! They also got a kick out of holding him! We ordered pizza and enjoyed each other's company before heading back to Dad's house exhausted. Dad and I watched a scary movie together (since we're the only ones we know that will watch scary movies!!) and then Lee and I went straight to bed!
The next morning, we got up and headed to church where lots and lots of people were waiting to meet the B! Everyone was so happy to see him in person and not on Facebook! After church we headed over to Judy's house and had lunch with Bill, Judy, Seth, Julie, Dax and Leira! Yummy Roast beef and potatoes and carrots and rolls! All this and then we sadly headed back home to Virginia Beach. It was a quick trip but we had a fabulous time in Roanoke with family and friends! :) Here are a few pictures!

5 weeks!

Bauer, you are 5 weeks now! And, I might add, cute as ever! Not much has changed since your 4 week update but I've noticed that you're smiling a LOT more now! Mommy and Daddy could stare at you and watch you smile for hours because its so beautiful. Mommy bought you a kid's Christmas sing-along CD this week and you love it! We listen to it in the car and at home. Mommy puts you on her lap and you dance along to the music and love it! I'm so excited for the holidays with you! Thanksgiving is only 4 days away!! We had a little trouble with your 5 week picture this week! Mommy bought a cute fabric but when I took your picture it washed you out and you could barely see the print. I had to do it all over again. (Which is a task intiself because we usually take about 80 pictures and narrow it down to a few we like. SO, at the last minute I got a quilt that Mrs Moser made you for your baby shower and turned it to the back. It was perfect and in cute fall colors! We can use the front side of the quilt for another picture later on. You also went on your first trip to the park this week! Daddy got off work early and met us there. We went to Mount Trashmore and walked a mile around the lake. You got a little fussy toward the end and we had to stop. Mommy also took you to the mall this week for a little walk. Just you and mommy. We window shopped and looked at all the Christmas sights and sounds! :) We had a great week together, little man. Are you ready for your first trip to North Carolina?? Wednesday we will be leaving to go to Grandma Money and Sir's house! You will get to meet your uncle John and Aunties Katy and Allison. We can't wait :)

Visitors!

Lee and are very blessed to have family come help out and stay with us since Bauer has been born! Lee's dad and stepmom spent the weekend with us when Bauer was born. Grampy and and Gramma T. stayed a whole week and helped us out! Then, Grandma Money stayed with us a week and helped! Here are a few pictures :)

First Timers

Bauer, here's just a little collection of everyone that loves you to pieces holding you for the first time :) We will probably have a few posts like this as time goes on until everyone important has held you! First, Mommy and Daddy held you. Then Grandma Money held you! Grampy and Gramma T. couldn't wait to get their hands on you! You Have so many more people to meet, Bauer! :)

Hallo...what?

Usually, I love decorating for fall and Halloween! This year I didn't get to decorate much because of the miserableness of my pregnancy and the birth of my baby. Since Lee went to the storage unit for a few things, I asked him to go ahead and bring back one box of fall/Halloween decor. I did the usual..some fall candles on the coffee table and changed out my throw pillows on my couch from blue/green to fall colors. But, really the only thing I really took time to decorate was our little bookshelf when you walk in. I was so proud of how cute it looked that I had to share. And so I can remember how it was decorated for next year! Oh...FYI-I realize the Halloween frame is empty. I got that on clearance at Target after Halloween. We're going to put all of Bauer's Halloween pictures in it each year when he's dressed up in his costume! This year its blank because I haven't printed the pictures out yet :) Oh and PLEASE excuse the dust! :)

Bath Time

Bauer, so far you seem to love bath time! Here is a picture of you getting your first bath! Oh wait! No! That's daddy when he was only a few weeks old! The resemblance is amazing! Bauer gets this look on his face all the time! They look so much alike!

Bauer, Here is a picture of you with Mommy! You just had your first bath! You were cold so Mommy was keeping you warm :)

Hunt Club Farms

A few weeks ago, Lee and I decided that we should do some sort of Fall-ish activity with the new babe. Of course we decided to go to Hunt Club Farms..and for the sake of tradition, Seth and Julie and their two lovies joined us for the trip! We had a great time and it put me more in the fall spirit! We didn't go as early as we did last year, so a lot of the pumpkins were picked over and there wasn't as much to choose from..which is ok considering we have no place to really display a Jack-O-Lantern or anything... Here are some fun pictures of our day! Oh and did I mention that Bauer was barely a week old and that I was SCARED to death to take him out of the house because I was terrified of bees (the ones that tend to hang around the hay and pumpkins and what not) and germs! It was difficult me to relax...call it first time mom jitters! :)
