Happy New Year! Lee and I had a fabulous new year! We started celebrating on Thursday night for Lee's birthday! He's 28 this year :) We decided to dress up and head out on the town. I asked around my office about where to go. I wanted to take him somewhere nice that we had never been before. I had several suggestions and discovered several new places for us to try out but I settled on this place.
Bardo edibles and elixirs! Its a Tapas bar. The food was sensational and the atmosphere was really cool. Its in Ghent in downtown Norfolk. Locals, if you haven't gone, its a must. We had so much fun. I had a glass of wine but Lee ordered a couple of cocktails and they were both REALLY good, considering I don't usually like them. I thought for sure we'd head home after eating such a meal, but we ended up going to see a movie as well. We went to see Little Fockers, which honestly I was not impressed with. It doesn't compare to the other two movies at all. If you do decide to see this, don't waste your money, wait for Redbox! It's cute but not worth all the hype. Fortunately we had free tickets so we didn't have to spend any money.
Friday night, we spent New Year's Eve with our best friends, the Parsons. Julie's parents were in from Pennsylvania and her brother and his wife and baby were there. We basically spent the night eating yummy food, playing boardgames and drinking champagne :) What a great night! Nothing like an evening in with good friends, which I'm starting to enjoy MORE than going out.
That was our new year's celebration...I hope everyone else had a safe and happy one! PS: I'm ready for summer....and the beach..really.
