Wedding Bells!!

Saturday was the day of Nick and Jessica's wedding!! I was so excited for Lee! This is the first wedding he's been a groomsman! I don't think it hit him until the rehearsal dinner what an honor that was and I could tell he was really proud and excited and extremely happy for Nick! Lee and Austin (nick's brother who lives in Seattle) headed off to have their pictures made at the country club. Julie, John, Janna and I went to the church around 3 so they could practice their music and they were doing family pictures at four! YES, they broke the tradition of the bride and groom not seeing each other before the ceremony!! I know that a lot of people like to get all of the pictures out of the way so their guests arent waiting for a long time at the ceremony, but I'm kind of a stickler and I don't want Lee to see me till the moment my dad is walking me down the aisle!! I just think that makes it so much more special..but I guess it doesn't matter that much. Lee wanted me to try to get a family shot on my camera...here's the one I got....

Beautiful! Lee's grandma has a big family picture just like this from every grandchild's wedding hanging up in her foyer....Alex and Laurie, Betsy and JP, Loren and Lizzy, and now Nick and Jessica's will be hanging there. Only three grandkids left to get married...Lee, John, and Austin..hmm I wonder who will be next?? Yeah probably Austin...lol

Here's a cute pic of Lee before the wedding and a picture of us together!

The music at this ceremony was incredible. The prelude music was performed by Lee's mom on the harp and his Uncle Ken on the Cello. John also played Gabriel's oboe! It was beautiful. John also led Jessica into the church with his bagpipes accompanying the organ. He also led Nick and Jessica out with the bagpipes. During the Ceremony Julie sang and played the harp to "The Lord's prayer." She and Loren also did two songs together.."I will be here" where loren played the guitar and sang, and "All my Life" where they sang a duet and Loren played the piano. Loren wrote this song for Nick and Jessica!! Nick gave Loren some love letters and some poetry that he had written to Jessica and asked him to write a song! It turned out beautifully. It was amazingly well done because Julie followed Loren perfectly..she had never sang the song before and she had NO music..can you imagine? Here is a link to the song on youtube. You can't see the video..and im not sure why because when we played the video on Lizzy's computer we could see it..but its a beautiful song and I'd totally do it at my wedding if it wasn't Nick and Jessica's song!! Ill also post a few pictures of the music and Jessica walking down the aisle!!

Doesn't she look gorgeous! The wedding ceremony was beautiful! After the recessional the bride and groom came BACK in and dismissed each row. When I heard they were doing this..I thought it sounded kind of strange. I had never seen that before..but when they did it, it was totally awesome. It really worked out nicely! A few more wedding ceremony pics--

Mr and Mrs Nicholas Rennich!!

and my handsome studly groomsman of a man.. :)

Before the ceremony and prelude music started we watched Nick and Jessica's slideshow..their individual ones. Then, after the recessional and before Nick and Jessica came back in, we watched the slideshow of them together..it was all put together very well! I'm so glad they did it the way they did!

After the ceremony we had little white jingle bells to ring to see them off to the reception! Jessica and Nick had a Lexus convertible..made possible by Jessica who LOVES lexus's so much..she's worked there for 5 years and has convinced everyone around her to drive them..including Nick :)

Lee, John, Austin and I hurried over to the reception to start decorating Nick's car..the getaway car. We had soap which I used to write all over car..including "just married" on the back. We tied cans with ribbon to the back of the trunk and blew up various condoms (i had no part in the condoms!!) and hung them from the rearview..the usual! Also Nick and Jessica were having a DRY wedding so we knew we'd have to sneak a little you know what around with us...thank god for my gynormous purse..i was the mini bar for the night. We kept going out to the car to drink and would return later. It was fun! and freezing!! I will never forget JP. He was hilarious. He came out to the car with Austin and said "ok, im 27 years old, I manage my own company, I'm married..and here I am standing out in the cold with a bunch of twenty-something's looking for some alcohol!" that might not be a direct quote mind you but coming from JP that's hilarious!

Finally the party got started with some dancing...not being one to dance very much ESPECIALLY at weddings I was caught by suprise when JP stole me away from Lee and we started DRAMATICALLY dancing and serenading each other to "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith. I officially had a Steven Tyler moment. Not to mention my duet and dancing solo with JP...we did "grease lightning" and "summer lovin' he was Danny and I was Sandy...I couldn't believe I did that..I just went for it!! It was so much fun.. I turned around and saw Lee..I thought he was going to die laughing...another thing I'll never forget is Lees grandma dancing...that was just too funny! And who could forget JP grabbing Lee's mom and them dancing whole-heartedly to "Dancing Queen!?" ahh good times. At the end of the night Nick asked me and Lee to pull the get away car around! STOP IT! it was almost as if ..he was passing the torch..haha Lee is gonna kill me!! no it was funny. AND HOW INCREDIBLY PERFECT that just as we went to get the car..a light snow started falling..of COURSE it did..Jessica had a fairy tale wedding. I'm so happy for her and Nick....who by now have probably returned from St Martins!
A few final pictures of the wedding night...quite a few actually :)

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Nick and Jessica! :)
