A surprise from Hubs
The same night that we went downtown with friends, Lee surprised me and we stayed the night at hotel Roanoke! We, as well as all of our wedding guests, stayed at Hotel Roanoke and we had our rehearsal dinner there as well. We also spent our wedding night there so it was time for us to have a Romantic night together. First full night away from Bauer! It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, and it was so sweet of Lee to do this for us :) We enjoyed seeing the Festival of Trees (something we did every year when we lived in Roanoke) and had a yummy breakfast in the Regency Room :) Love love LOVE Hotel Roanoke at Christmas time :)
A Wasabi kinda night
A couple of months ago when we were home for Christmas, we had the opportunity to take our first night out on the town with friends. We ate at one of our favorite restaurants in downtown Roanoke, Wasabis. Our friends Seth and Julie were in from Virginia Beach as well...so we invited them too. Along with Nick and Shaylynn, and Mark and Jensen. Afterwards, we went out for a few drinks :) Good times!
17 Weeks!

Um yeah so much for keeping up with this blog! I'm sorry to all 2 of you who actually read this! I have a lot to catch up on! Here is B's update...I'm sorry the last one is 8 weeks old! Bad blogger mama!
Bauer, you are 17 weeks now! You are so so so so big! We get a kick out of you every single day! You're the happiest baby in the world! You are FINALLY sleeping through the night! Usually we give you your last feeding around 830 and you fall asleep around 9 and sleep until 7 am! WHAT A BLESSING! I love getting up in the morning and coming into your room! You're so smiley and giggly and it always starts my day off right! Our special time is in the morning when I get to feed you and get you ready for Daddy! Daddy takes you to Na Na's (our wonderful daycare provider) and Mommy picks you up after work! You love to laugh and play and you LOVE Elmo! You love the videos and sesame street and your plush Elmo. You love music and you especially love your daddy! My heart melts when I see the two of you together. You have some special bond that is indescribable. You have started eating rice cereal. Its really helping your tummy. You acid reflux has gotten so bad lately, but we notice when we give you the cereal that you don't spit up as much! Mommy can't wait to start you on solid foods in a couple of months! I think you're going to be a wonderful eater! You are starting to teethe! I don't see any teeth yet but you're constantly drooling and chewing on your hands. You love teething rings and putting your toys in your mouth. You love grabbing mommy's hair too! You've had a little cold the past few days..but so has mommy and daddy and all the kids at Na Na's. Also, the stomach flu is going around and we hope you don't get it...you've already had it once and you were miserable!!
We're so excited to be moving into our new house in a couple of weeks! You will have your own room, that you don't have to share with boxes and tools and everything else. We're thinking of doing something different with your nursery in the new house but we haven't decided yet! We're so excited for you to have a big backyard to play in, and are so happy we will have room for guests! You have a lot of exciting things coming up soon!! Can't wait for your 4 month appointment on Monday!! We're thinking you're around 18lbs and you are SO tall! We're dying to find out how big you are, sweet boy! These four months have flown by...we are savoring all of our time with you! :)

Busy weekend!
This weekend we had a lot of things planned! Our number one plan was to decorate for Christmas! After a lot of thought and consideration we decided to forego doing that this year. I KNOW! This will be the first time EVER that I haven't and I'm having a really hard time with it. BUT, this apartment right now is very tight and we're packing for our move as it is. To go to the storage unit and get all our decor and fill up our house with more clutter and the baby stuff is just too much. We know Bauer wont remember, even though I will. Plus we'll be spending Christmas in Roanoke. I guess next year when we decorate it'll just be that much more fun to see all of our special decorations!!

Friday night, we went to Lee's office party! Normally, they have a very adult party at a fancy restaurant but this year they decided to deck out the office halls and have a family party so that everyone could bring their kids! Bauer was such a ham! He was very social and behaved the entire time. Lots of people held him and he was as cool as a cuke! We had such a good time! Santa handed out gifts to all the kids and Bauer of course was the youngest! He got a fun toy for his carseat and stroller.
Saturday morning, we woke up early and decided to go for a little hike to our favorite state park..since there are so few around here! It was a little cold but we had a great time! We took our favorite trail and took lots of fun pictures! After our hike we decided to go have some lunch at the deli and do some Christmas shopping! We had a lot of fun and laughs that day.. :) Saturday night, we headed over to Seth and Julie's for our annual tradition of watching Christmas Vacation! We do this every year and this is the third year in a row! I made my famous cheese dip for Seth and Julie made homemade cookies! We all got into our Christmas jammies and got cozy for our favorite Christmas flick! Sunday, I watched the sweetest boy in the world while Lee shopped for us :) I'm anxious to see what hubs picked out! We're definitly pretty broke this year since I'm not being paid for my maternity leave. Our income has been sliced pretty hard...which is especially stressful around the holidays and buying a house and all the medical bills! AHHH! We will manage...somehow! :) All I need are my boys and my family. We're looking forward to my Christmas party for work next weekend and then I'll be heading to Roanoke for the week before Christmas and the holiday! Unfortunately, I will have to return to work two days after Christmas! :( We're currently interviewing nannies for Bauer. Wish us luck! That's all for now... hope everyone has a great week! :)

8 weeks!

8 weeks! Its hard to believe! Mommy took you to the doctor for your 2 MONTH checkup yesterday! We couldn't wait to see how big you were! You surprised us when the nurse told mommy you were 13lbs 2oz and 23 inches long! You are in the 75th percentile for weight and 57th for height! You have gained 5 pounds since you were born! Mommy is so proud, considering you lost so much after you were born! You have been very energetic this week. Playing and smiling a lot! Those size one diapers are already starting to get tight and mommy can't believe you're about to move to size 2 already! You have been a little constipated and we think its because we switched to a different formula so we're switching again! Its been hard figuring out the best one for you. Thank goodness for Target brand and their lower prices :) This week, we went to the park to play with Dax and Leira and even did a little Christmas shopping! We also took a drive to our new house to check out the neighborhood. Tonight is your first Christmas party. We are going to Daddy's work party and we are so excited to show you off in your Christmas clothes! This weekend we are going to go see the Christmas lights at the Botanical Gardens. Mommy and Daddy have never gone there either so it should be fun! Mommy only has two more full weeks with you and then she has to go back to work and she's very sad. We will make the best of it won't we? Love you, Zubba!

scrubby dubby dub :)
We had so much fun with you in the bath tonite and you were so cute that mommy had to put pictures on here. I don't think I need to remind you how much you love the bath. Daddy loves giving you baths and pouring the water over your head. Even if it gets in your mouth or your eyes you don't mind at all :) Daddy brings the little space heater in the bathroom to keep you nice and warm and you are so cute!
7 weeks!

Bauer, you had your first cold this week. Your nose was very runny. But Mommy took good care of you and we snuggled a lot. It might have been all the traveling and your first trip to see Grandma Money's house! You are eating a lot now! 5-6 oz's! We can barely keep up with you! You also pooped all over Daddy for the first time..He did not like that very much. Mommy laughed so hard she almost peed her pants! And let's not forget that ONE night you slept for 4 hours and woke up to eat and went back to sleep for 4 more hours. Hopefully you'll learn to do that again soon! Mommy and Daddy are anxious for your 8 week check-up next week. We can't wait to see how much our little chunk has grown! :)
