a few out-takes

Bauer was in a Glorious mood today when we took his Valentine Photos...so we had a few cute outtakes that we didn't use for our card that we would like to share. Prepare to GUSH. (That means YOU, Briggley Mae Grant!)

Just get a load of those chunky thighs, ladies...he'll steal your heart away :)

Love is in the air

We decided to do a Valentine's Day card to send to our closest family and friends this year. I am not revealing the card to facebook yet..but to all the masses two of you who read the blog..you are getting a sneak peak.. :) If you ARE in fact receiving one of these in the mail..you can expect it around March. Yup. We just ordered them today. Fact. Happy Valentine's Day. Love and be loved. Or as Ellen Degeneres would say..Be kind to one another :)

9 missed weeks

Ok, since I sorta left out NINE of Bauer's weekly updates..I feel as though I can't cheat you out of the wonderful pictures from those weeks...as the 52 week fabric project continues...I know you've had your panties in a wod just waiting for these. They start at 16 weeks and end at 9 weeks. Yes, I loaded them backwards. Yes, I'm too lazy to fix them. I apologize to the thousands of you who requested these..

17 Weeks!

Um yeah so much for keeping up with this blog! I'm sorry to all 2 of you who actually read this! I have a lot to catch up on! Here is B's update...I'm sorry the last one is 8 weeks old! Bad blogger mama!
Bauer, you are 17 weeks now! You are so so so so big! We get a kick out of you every single day! You're the happiest baby in the world! You are FINALLY sleeping through the night! Usually we give you your last feeding around 830 and you fall asleep around 9 and sleep until 7 am! WHAT A BLESSING! I love getting up in the morning and coming into your room! You're so smiley and giggly and it always starts my day off right! Our special time is in the morning when I get to feed you and get you ready for Daddy! Daddy takes you to Na Na's (our wonderful daycare provider) and Mommy picks you up after work! You love to laugh and play and you LOVE Elmo! You love the videos and sesame street and your plush Elmo. You love music and you especially love your daddy! My heart melts when I see the two of you together. You have some special bond that is indescribable. You have started eating rice cereal. Its really helping your tummy. You acid reflux has gotten so bad lately, but we notice when we give you the cereal that you don't spit up as much! Mommy can't wait to start you on solid foods in a couple of months! I think you're going to be a wonderful eater! You are starting to teethe! I don't see any teeth yet but you're constantly drooling and chewing on your hands. You love teething rings and putting your toys in your mouth. You love grabbing mommy's hair too! You've had a little cold the past few days..but so has mommy and daddy and all the kids at Na Na's. Also, the stomach flu is going around and we hope you don't get it...you've already had it once and you were miserable!!
We're so excited to be moving into our new house in a couple of weeks! You will have your own room, that you don't have to share with boxes and tools and everything else. We're thinking of doing something different with your nursery in the new house but we haven't decided yet! We're so excited for you to have a big backyard to play in, and are so happy we will have room for guests! You have a lot of exciting things coming up soon!! Can't wait for your 4 month appointment on Monday!! We're thinking you're around 18lbs and you are SO tall! We're dying to find out how big you are, sweet boy! These four months have flown by...we are savoring all of our time with you! :)

Busy weekend!

This weekend we had a lot of things planned! Our number one plan was to decorate for Christmas! After a lot of thought and consideration we decided to forego doing that this year. I KNOW! This will be the first time EVER that I haven't and I'm having a really hard time with it. BUT, this apartment right now is very tight and we're packing for our move as it is. To go to the storage unit and get all our decor and fill up our house with more clutter and the baby stuff is just too much. We know Bauer wont remember, even though I will. Plus we'll be spending Christmas in Roanoke. I guess next year when we decorate it'll just be that much more fun to see all of our special decorations!!
Friday night, we went to Lee's office party! Normally, they have a very adult party at a fancy restaurant but this year they decided to deck out the office halls and have a family party so that everyone could bring their kids! Bauer was such a ham! He was very social and behaved the entire time. Lots of people held him and he was as cool as a cuke! We had such a good time! Santa handed out gifts to all the kids and Bauer of course was the youngest! He got a fun toy for his carseat and stroller.
Saturday morning, we woke up early and decided to go for a little hike to our favorite state park..since there are so few around here! It was a little cold but we had a great time! We took our favorite trail and took lots of fun pictures! After our hike we decided to go have some lunch at the deli and do some Christmas shopping! We had a lot of fun and laughs that day.. :) Saturday night, we headed over to Seth and Julie's for our annual tradition of watching Christmas Vacation! We do this every year and this is the third year in a row! I made my famous cheese dip for Seth and Julie made homemade cookies! We all got into our Christmas jammies and got cozy for our favorite Christmas flick! Sunday, I watched the sweetest boy in the world while Lee shopped for us :) I'm anxious to see what hubs picked out! We're definitly pretty broke this year since I'm not being paid for my maternity leave. Our income has been sliced pretty hard...which is especially stressful around the holidays and buying a house and all the medical bills! AHHH! We will manage...somehow! :) All I need are my boys and my family. We're looking forward to my Christmas party for work next weekend and then I'll be heading to Roanoke for the week before Christmas and the holiday! Unfortunately, I will have to return to work two days after Christmas! :( We're currently interviewing nannies for Bauer. Wish us luck! That's all for now... hope everyone has a great week! :)

8 weeks!

8 weeks! Its hard to believe! Mommy took you to the doctor for your 2 MONTH checkup yesterday! We couldn't wait to see how big you were! You surprised us when the nurse told mommy you were 13lbs 2oz and 23 inches long! You are in the 75th percentile for weight and 57th for height! You have gained 5 pounds since you were born! Mommy is so proud, considering you lost so much after you were born! You have been very energetic this week. Playing and smiling a lot! Those size one diapers are already starting to get tight and mommy can't believe you're about to move to size 2 already! You have been a little constipated and we think its because we switched to a different formula so we're switching again! Its been hard figuring out the best one for you. Thank goodness for Target brand and their lower prices :) This week, we went to the park to play with Dax and Leira and even did a little Christmas shopping! We also took a drive to our new house to check out the neighborhood. Tonight is your first Christmas party. We are going to Daddy's work party and we are so excited to show you off in your Christmas clothes! This weekend we are going to go see the Christmas lights at the Botanical Gardens. Mommy and Daddy have never gone there either so it should be fun! Mommy only has two more full weeks with you and then she has to go back to work and she's very sad. We will make the best of it won't we? Love you, Zubba!

scrubby dubby dub :)

We had so much fun with you in the bath tonite and you were so cute that mommy had to put pictures on here. I don't think I need to remind you how much you love the bath. Daddy loves giving you baths and pouring the water over your head. Even if it gets in your mouth or your eyes you don't mind at all :) Daddy brings the little space heater in the bathroom to keep you nice and warm and you are so cute!

7 weeks!

Bauer, you had your first cold this week. Your nose was very runny. But Mommy took good care of you and we snuggled a lot. It might have been all the traveling and your first trip to see Grandma Money's house! You are eating a lot now! 5-6 oz's! We can barely keep up with you! You also pooped all over Daddy for the first time..He did not like that very much. Mommy laughed so hard she almost peed her pants! And let's not forget that ONE night you slept for 4 hours and woke up to eat and went back to sleep for 4 more hours. Hopefully you'll learn to do that again soon! Mommy and Daddy are anxious for your 8 week check-up next week. We can't wait to see how much our little chunk has grown! :)

a sweet gesture

When we brought Bauer home from the hospital, my office was kind enough to surprise me. They ordered a huge platter of sandwiches, pasta salad and cookies for Lee, my parents, and I. That was so nice. I know this is a little late but I thought it was worth mentioning. I sent this picture to everyone in the office, including the doctors :)

5 weeks!

Bauer, you are 5 weeks now! And, I might add, cute as ever! Not much has changed since your 4 week update but I've noticed that you're smiling a LOT more now! Mommy and Daddy could stare at you and watch you smile for hours because its so beautiful. Mommy bought you a kid's Christmas sing-along CD this week and you love it! We listen to it in the car and at home. Mommy puts you on her lap and you dance along to the music and love it! I'm so excited for the holidays with you! Thanksgiving is only 4 days away!! We had a little trouble with your 5 week picture this week! Mommy bought a cute fabric but when I took your picture it washed you out and you could barely see the print. I had to do it all over again. (Which is a task intiself because we usually take about 80 pictures and narrow it down to a few we like. SO, at the last minute I got a quilt that Mrs Moser made you for your baby shower and turned it to the back. It was perfect and in cute fall colors! We can use the front side of the quilt for another picture later on. You also went on your first trip to the park this week! Daddy got off work early and met us there. We went to Mount Trashmore and walked a mile around the lake. You got a little fussy toward the end and we had to stop. Mommy also took you to the mall this week for a little walk. Just you and mommy. We window shopped and looked at all the Christmas sights and sounds! :) We had a great week together, little man. Are you ready for your first trip to North Carolina?? Wednesday we will be leaving to go to Grandma Money and Sir's house! You will get to meet your uncle John and Aunties Katy and Allison. We can't wait :)

Visitors!

Lee and are very blessed to have family come help out and stay with us since Bauer has been born! Lee's dad and stepmom spent the weekend with us when Bauer was born. Grampy and and Gramma T. stayed a whole week and helped us out! Then, Grandma Money stayed with us a week and helped! Here are a few pictures :)

First Timers

Bauer, here's just a little collection of everyone that loves you to pieces holding you for the first time :) We will probably have a few posts like this as time goes on until everyone important has held you! First, Mommy and Daddy held you. Then Grandma Money held you! Grampy and Gramma T. couldn't wait to get their hands on you! You Have so many more people to meet, Bauer! :)

Bath Time

Bauer, so far you seem to love bath time! Here is a picture of you getting your first bath! Oh wait! No! That's daddy when he was only a few weeks old! The resemblance is amazing! Bauer gets this look on his face all the time! They look so much alike!

Bauer, Here is a picture of you with Mommy! You just had your first bath! You were cold so Mommy was keeping you warm :)

4 weeks!

Bauer, it's so hard for mommy and daddy to believe that you are 4 weeks old! In just a few days you will be a month old! :) As Thanksgiving approaches, mommy and daddy realize how thankful we are for you! We love you, sweet boy!!

Here is Bauer's 4 week update!

We're not sure how much you weigh or your new height because you don't have another doctor's appointment until you are 2 months old! At your 2 week appointment you were 8.13lb and 21 inches long! You are still wearing mostly newborn clothes but a few 3-6 month sizes. You love being naked or laying under your play gym in your diaper. You tend to get hot very easily so we like to give you a little time at night to play in the nude! It also calms and winds you down at night and you seem to sleep better! You sleep in your pack and play and you love listening to your "Lammie" that aunt Katy bought you!

You are drinking 3-4 oz of formula at every feeding and you are a hungry boy! You practically try to rip the bottle out of our hands when we feed you and you drink really fast and usually make yourself spit up even though mommy and daddy try to burp you! You hate being burped because you are so inpatient!

You hate being swaddled and you love sitting up on the couch like a big boy! You love music and when we play your grandma's CD of lullabies for you! You are grabbing onto things a lot...mostly my tank top straps and hair. You're very strong and have a great grip! You get the hiccups constantly and you love to toot!

A couple nights a week we give you a bath! You LOVE bath time except when we wash your hair you get cold! We make sure to keep you nice and warm! Daddy even brought a little heater to plug into the bathroom when we bathe you and it keeps everyone warm :)

Your current nicknamee given to you by your daddy is "Zubba!" You love Daddy and every night you play together and he spends quality time with you! You are starting to smile and laugh a little more and daddy usually brings that out of you!

You are such a JOY! Even though you haven't given us much sleep...we think we'll keep you for a while! Happy one month birthday to our sweet son! :)

52 weeks of Bauer

Lee and I decided we wanted to do a photo project documenting Bauer's growth from week to week. A lot of people take monthly pictures, but we decided to take it one step further and do a weekly photo shoot..sort of a flip book of Bauer if you will. We got the idea from various bloggers and decided that each week, we would buy a specific fabric (or use a fabric/blanket that we have lying around the house) and use it as the background. We've been going to the fabric store and buying a yard of fabric for the background. Usually I just head over to the clearance section to see what they have. At the end of 52 weeks we are going to have a quilt made with the different fabrics from each week. We think its a fun way to document the growth of our sweet baby. I will also try to post weekly pictures with updates on here...sometimes there may not be an update..just a picture. I guess I should go ahead and get you caught up with weeks 1, 2, and 3...here they are :)
